What is The Caregiver's D.R.E.A.M.?

The Caregiver's D.R.E.A.M. is the brainchild of six women who have worked tirelessly for several years in pursuit of health and education equity for families of children with disabilities in the District of Columbia.  Through their work and personal experiences, TCD founders know first hand difficult journey many families face when working through systems of care and education in the District of Columbia.  TCD seeks to support families in this category by combatting feelings of scarcity and isolation through programs focusing on wellness, education, and advocacy.  While TCD exists to support and align ith families throughout the District, our primary work is focused in Wards 5, 7, and 8. 

We Work To...

Advocacy

....protect caregivers of students with disabilities in public education by supporting their advocacy throughout their educational journey from birth to transition in spaces such as IEP planning and community engagement. 

Wellness

...protect caregivers' mental and physical health through healing conversation circles, nutrition education, and related wellness programming.

Community

...to protect caregivers from spaces of scarcity through community support and mutual aid.
